A study conducted by researchers at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine suggests that those who fulfill the personal responsibility of getting regular exercise may also sleep better.
The team of scientists tested their theories on a group of 23 adults who led a sedentary lifestyle, were older than 55 and were experiencing sleep disturbances.
They found that after 16 weeks, regular and moderate exercise had the power to improve sleep quality, brighten moods and heighten wakefulness during the day.
"Better sleep gave them pep, that magical ingredient that makes you want to get up and get out into the world to do things," said Kathryn Reid, the study's lead author.
Ilchi Lee believes in the power of optimal health to improve the individual's mind and spirituality. Results of the study suggest that attaining healthy sleep patterns may also aid an individual in their journey of personal growth and strengthen their mind-body-spirit connection.
Meditation is also an effective method to rest the body and mind, but in a way that is focused and targeted to a specific goal. Those who have trouble sleeping may want to try meditation in conjunction with an exercise program, such as Dahn Yoga, which was founded by Ilchi Lee.
