Ilchi lee was featured as a special guest lecturer on KBS-1 TV, March 13, 2007. He presented an hour-long broadcast lecture about the HSP Youthful Walking Method, titled Walk for a Long Healthy Life. KBS-1 TV’s program Front Yard in the Morning is a one of the major morning programs reaching up to five million people throughout South Korea.
In that live-on-the-air show, Ilchi Lee said, “Although the human life span has been prolonged to the late 70s, but for many people living a healthy life is a very different matter.” “If you can change your walking style, you can change your life,” advised, “living a healthy long life is one right human beings have.” During the program, he introduced Jangsaeng Walking, the youthful walking method, guiding some in the studio audience to do this walking, and then explaining it more detail.
Following the program, many people phoned it to ask KBS to replay it, and many inquired as to where they might learn more about this walking method. Also, many businesses and schools invited Ilchi Lee to present Jangsaeng Walking to them. So from then on, he was busy giving the lecture across South Korea.
Ilchi Lee referred to scientific evidence that has documented that regular walking can prevent or even reverse many diseases. He introduced Jangsaeng Walking, calling it a human technology for greater health and longevity. He summarized these guidelines for properly doing Jangsaeng Walking: Breathe with the lower abdomen, let the heel tap the ground gently as steps forward, with a straight leg, feel the weight transfer fully to the balls (yong-chon) and toes of the foot, keep the feet parallel, walk on either side of an imaginary line, angle the body 1 degree forward, relax the shoulders, swing the arms freely, and smile and do a good deed!
In Oriental Medicine, the yong-chon acupressure point on the balls of the feet is the start of the kidney meridian; a well-functioning kidney is the key to staying young, active and healthy. In Jangsaeng Walking, the soleus muscle in the legs, which presses on the yong-chon, is strengthened, thus improving the kidney energy circulation.

Nowadays, whenever I walk, I feel different. Each foot remind me of the importance of consciousness about my body and my energy. I can feel the connection of the whole body. Feet to Belly area (Middle energy center), then to Head (Spritual center). JS walking is very simple but so powerful!!!
